A new update to Ironbound Shadows - Part One has been released! This version, v.1.3, includes some minor balancing and editing adjustments, as well as a few big tweaks to narrative sections and a more clarified downtime section!
This update also includes a set of three simple maps for the combats found in Ironbound Shadows - Part One!
Beat 2: Picking Up the Trail
- Celine's Persons of Interest profile is now found on Page 20.
- Clarifying edits and page number additions.
Combat 1A: The First Glint
- Replaced "Scouts" with "Squad" in Details.
Combat 1B: Hack And Slash
- The contents of Beat 4B have been largely merged into Moving On. This has been done to improve narrative flow between combats.
- Adjustments to read-aloud text.
Beat 4: Laying Low
- With the removal of Beat 4B, Beat 4A has been updated to Beat 4. Moving On has also been adjusted to account for Beat 4B no longer existing.
- Decreased the Stress cost for failing to provide Kostas an alibi, as escaping pursuit and dealing with Samael are both areas in which the PCs may easily incur stress at the GM's discretion.
- Adjustments to Petros's paragraph under Taking Shelter.
- Federal Jurisdiction has been reworked to be more interactive, harder to miss, and easier to apply regardless of how the PCs attempt to lay low.
- Clarifying edits and minor adjustments.
Strike Team Wyvern
- As a member of Strike Team Wyvern appears in Beat 4, the pages on Strike Team Wyvern have been moved to follow Beat 4.
- A sidebar on the Athanasidhe Special Investigations Division has been added.
Beat 4B: Detour
- This beat has been removed, with its contents assimilated into Combat 1B, Beat 4, and Combat 2. This has been done to improve narrative flow, as Morgan presenting their intel works better if it occurs before Beat 4: Laying Low.
Combat 2: Steel Mill Sprint
- The Moving On subsection of Beat 4B has been moved to serve as an intro section for Combat 2.
Downtime 1: Stemma/Places, Everyone
- Downtime 1: Stemma has been renamed to Downtime 1: Places Everyone.
- The background, locations, and minor NPCs of Stemma have been moved to a following section titled Location: Stemma.
The Moving On event has been moved front-and-center and renamed to Sending A Message. - The skill challenge related to the Scions of Iron has been given a set of narrative benefits, lessening the blow of a potentially severe stress increase and providing more forward momentum in the PCs' investigations.
- A new sidebar, Behind the Scenes, has been added. This sidebar details the Lord of Iron's plans and goals in Part 2, providing more understanding of how Sending A Message relates to the story and offering greater guidance on the trajectory of Part 2.
- A small table of Recurring NPC Interactions has been added for the GM to draw upon as additional flavor to the PCs' downtime actions, creating more familiarity with the factions and characters at play in the process.
